MUSA, an acronym for Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action, is a project in which our entire University is involved within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The engagement of citizens in the territory to promote healthy lifestyles and behaviors, the organization of sustainable services to promote the well-being of citizens and vulnerable groups, and the monitoring of citizens’ well-being for preventive purposes are some of the goals of the project.
In this framework, the COMiB is carrying out the activity entitled “Myopia, Myopic Progression, and Proximal Vision: A Study in the Context of the MUSA Project”.
During the first year, we recruited Giulia Rizzo (technologist) and Azeezh Obaid (Ph.D. candidate), we worked on the protocol for the optometric measurements, we presented the project to the Ethics Committee, which approved it, and we started the recruitment and the optometric analyses.
These activities span across various aspects due to the strong synergy between social activities in the community, research activities of our group, and training activities for students in the degree program.
The company CSO – Costruzione Strumenti Oftalmici (Scandicci, Florence) and the company OPTOVISTA (Calderara di Reno, Bologna) collaborate on the project.
